Port Hawkesbury Paper Marine Terminal
Point Tupper, NS · Private · Port Hawkesbury Paper LP · Strait of Canso
Port Hawkesbury Paper operates a private marine terminal on the Strait of Canso within the Point Tupper heavy-industrial complex, serving its supercalendered-paper and thermomechanical-pulp mill. The pier measures roughly 170.6 m (560 ft) long with a water depth of about 8.5 m (28 ft) and is used primarily for handling inbound clay (a paper coating/filler input) and outbound paper, plus general cargo. The terminal is one of several deep-water berths in the Strait of Canso "superport" region; a separate gypsum wharf (associated with Cabot/Georgia-Pacific gypsum operations, ~338 m wharf, ~8.8 m depth) operates elsewhere in the same Point Tupper area.
