Mulgrave Marine Terminal

Mulgrave, NS · Private · Transport Canada · Strait of Canso

The Mulgrave Marine Terminal is a common-user, year-round ice-free port on the Strait of Canso in Nova Scotia, operated by the Strait of Canso Superport Corporation Limited (SCSCL) on a site that appears on Transport Canada's owned-ports list as "Mulgrave." It handles bulk and breakbulk/general and project cargo—commodities cited include road salt, aggregate, slag, kraft pulp and fertilizer—and offers indoor/outdoor storage, dockside lay-down areas, line handlers, shore power, fresh water and ISPS-compliant operations. The terminal benefits from the deep Strait of Canso (the corporation cites greater than 18 m of draft at docks and greater than 30 m in the main channel, with no air-draft restrictions); IMPAC lists a North Berth of 150 m (10 m draft) and a South Berth of 275 m (6-10 m draft). Adjacent in Mulgrave, Martin Marietta Materials operates a dedicated 183 m aggregates wharf with 13.7 m water depth.
