Stewart World Port

Stewart, BC · Private · Stewart World Port · Portland Canal

Stewart World Port is a privately owned multi-purpose deep-sea port located at the head of the Portland Canal, about two kilometres south of the town of Stewart in northwest British Columbia; it received its first port call in February 2016 and is promoted as Canada's most northerly ice-free deep-sea port. The facility has a deep-sea wharf capable of berthing handymax and panamax vessels plus a breakbulk/RORO wharf and roughly 100 acres of laydown area. Inbound it handles mine resupply, pipe, modules, cement powder, fuel, project equipment and construction materials, while outbound cargoes include bulk mineral concentrates, wood chips, pellets, coal and LNG, along with oversized project cargo such as wind turbine blades, mining equipment and transformers serving the NW BC "Golden Triangle" mining region. It is a private commercial operation, not a Canada Port Authority or Transport Canada public port.
