Kegaska
Kegaska, QC · Transport Canada · Transport Canada · Gulf of St. Lawrence (Kegaska Bay)
Kegaska is a remote port facility owned by Transport Canada (Quebec Region), located in the Innu/coastal village of Kegaska on the Lower North Shore (Basse-Côte-Nord) of the Gulf of St. Lawrence. As the eastern terminus of Quebec Route 138, it functions as a transshipment point where road freight connects to the weekly coastal supply vessel that serves the isolated communities further east that have no road access. The harbour is a key call on the Rimouski-to-Blanc-Sablon route of the passenger/freight vessel Bella Desgagnés, operated by Relais Nordik, handling general freight, supplies and passengers for the remote Lower North Shore. It is classed by Transport Canada among the remote port facilities that serve communities where marine transportation is the primary mode of transportation.
