Port of Long Pond

Conception Bay South, NL · Private · Long Pond Harbour Authority Inc · Long Pond, Conception Bay (Northeast Avalon Peninsula)

The Port of Long Pond is a privately operated commercial port in a large, sheltered, ice-free bay on the Northeast Avalon Peninsula of Newfoundland & Labrador, managed by the Long Pond Harbour Authority Inc. (branded "Steadfast Connections"). It serves the offshore energy, mining, agriculture and construction sectors: exporting pyrophyllite mineral, transshipping aviation fuel (the province's main aviation-fuel port), importing grain feed for provincial poultry operations and cement, and acting as a supply-vessel base and heliport. Originally a fishing hub established in 1803, it expanded in 1937 to serve a nearby pyrophyllite mining operation; facilities include a 200-tonne crane pad and multi-highway access. The port offers a complete logistics solution through a partnership with the Blue Water Group, including warehousing, materials management and transportation.
