The Port of Goose Bay is a Transport Canada-owned public port located at Terrington Basin on Goose Bay, an arm of the Lake Melville / Hamilton Inlet estuary in central Labrador, with a navigation season running roughly April through December. Its facilities include an 801 ft (244 m) industrial dock with a maximum wharf depth of about 9 m (29 ft 6 in), roughly 1,643 m2 of inside storage and 4,800 m2 of outside storage, fuel and liquid asphalt tanks, and a transshipment warehouse. The terminal is operated by Integrated Nunatsiavut Logistics, an Aboriginal business run by QSL, and serves as a strategic import/export hub handling special-project and mining cargo destined for Northern Labrador. Stevedoring is provided in partnership with Nunatsiavut Marine Inc., and the port also supports regional ferry/freight service to coastal Labrador communities.
