The Port of Bayside is a privately operated deep-water commercial port on Passamaquoddy Bay (an inlet of the Bay of Fundy) at the mouth of the St. Croix River near Saint Andrews, NB, in an ice-free, tide-free zone close to the Canada-US border. The terminal is operated by Logistec (Logistec Stevedoring Canada Inc.) and handles bulk and break-bulk commodities including salt, aggregates, forest products, fertilizer, fish feed/meal, paper products, and frozen cargo, with stevedoring, cargo handling and storage services. It has a single 794 ft (242 m) wharf with up to three berths, 31 ft (9.6 m) of draft at low tide, and 118,000 sq ft (11,000 sq m) of wharf area, plus on-site dry storage (~3,600-3,900 sq m) and frozen/cold storage (~5,300 sq m, up to 7,000 tonnes). The site holds PIP, CFIA, HACCP, MSC, C-TPAT and USDA certifications and offers 24/7 security with direct road access via Routes 127 and 1 to the US, Saint John and Moncton.
