Port of Corner Brook
Corner Brook, NL · Private · Corner Brook Port Corporation · Humber Arm (fjord) at the head of the Bay of Islands, connected to the Gulf of St. Lawrence
The Port of Corner Brook is a year-round deep-water port on the west coast of Newfoundland, located at the end of the Humber Arm — a roughly 35 km fjord that connects to the Gulf of St. Lawrence — with a 90 m channel to gulf depth, a 362 m main berth and a minimum dockside depth of about 10 m. It handles containerized, breakbulk, bulk and project cargo (using a high-capacity ~53-tonne fixed pedestal crane plus a mobile harbour crane) for clients in the oil and gas, pulp and paper, fisheries, natural-resource and energy sectors; the adjacent Corner Brook Pulp & Paper mill is the port's largest associated industry. The port is owned and operated by the not-for-profit Corner Brook Port Corporation across three lines of business — industrial port operations, real estate, and cruise tourism — and it is a growing cruise destination (gateway to Gros Morne) hosting contemporary, luxury and expedition lines from roughly June to November. Stevedoring and cargo handling at the port are provided by Logistec Stevedoring.
