Braya Renewable Fuels Marine Terminal (Come By Chance Refinery)
Come By Chance, NL · Private · Braya Renewable Fuels · Placentia Bay
Privately owned deep-water marine terminal at the former Come By Chance petroleum refinery on Placentia Bay, repurposed by Braya Renewable Fuels into a renewable-diesel facility that began commercial operations on February 22, 2024 with an initial capacity of about 18,000 barrels per day. The dock handles all of the facility's marine traffic: inbound feedstocks (soybean oil and distiller's corn oil) are received by ship and all finished renewable products (renewable diesel, with planned sustainable aviation fuel) are shipped out by vessel, supported by existing refinery tankage. The deep-water location lets Braya source low-carbon feedstocks worldwide and deliver fuels to markets in North America and Europe. It is a private terminal, not within a Canada Port Authority; the company flagged a possible economic shutdown in late 2025 / early 2025 (temporary shutdown reported January 2025).
